Cibatool® SL 5170 |
Description
SL 5170 is a one-component, low viscosity, epoxy based, photo curable liquid resin. It is designed for use in the stereolithography process, especially on HeCd laser-based SLA systems. SL 5170 is a tough, stable, highly versatile resin which can produce concept models, working prototypes, and patterns for shell investment casting.
SL 5170 offers the highest accuracy parts produced by any rapid prototyping technique when used with QuickCast or ACES build styles. The QuickCast build style creates quasihollow parts which burn out of the ceramic shell used to investment cast a metal part. The ACES build style produces extremely accurate, optically clear parts. Several material properties of SL 5170 exceed or are comparable to medium impact polystyrene, making SL 5170 well suited for snap-fit assemblies. After part building, SL 5170 parts may be wiped clean without the use of any solvent, then post cured in a PCA.
