Locations
Eight real places within reach of Plaza Bolívar on Séptima Avenida, the guide’s reference point.
San Cristóbal’s public life gathers in two clusters. In the north, Pueblo Nuevo groups the football stadium, the Monumental bullring, the J. J. Mora velodrome and the fair pavilions on Avenida España — the stage for the January feria and for Deportivo Táchira. In the centre, Plaza Bolívar, the Ateneo del Táchira and the cathedral beside Plaza Juan Maldonado hold the city’s civic and religious history, while the Museo del Táchira occupies a colonial hacienda in Paramillo. Each location below has its own page with history, event style and visitor notes.

Before you go
Event days
Match days, concerts and the second half of January bring heavy traffic to Pueblo Nuevo. Allow extra time and walk between venues inside the complex.
Hours and tickets
This independent guide does not publish opening hours, prices or ticket links. Check each venue’s or organiser’s own announcements.
Respect
The cathedral is an active church, and several buildings house public institutions. Dress and behave accordingly, and ask before photographing people.
